1. What do you do?
Bluestone cleaning provides a property and stair cleaning service for the commercial and domestic market. The service provides a team of professional cleaners as and when a customer requires.
2. What can you clean?
We can clean the interiors and the contents of all types of commercial and domestic properties.
3. How do you ensure that every job meets the required standard?
For all cleaning jobs our Managers complete a comprehensive check of the property to ensure that every property has been thoroughly cleaned.
4. Can you clean windows?
Yes we can clean windows provided that we can access them from the inside of the property. If the windows do not swing in it may be difficult to gain access.
5. Can you clean carpets?
Yes we can shampoo carpets. We use a spray extraction system that provides a freshen up. If you require specific stain removal we can put you in the direction of a company who focus on this area.
6. Can you do laundry?
Yes we can do laundry. We outsource the laundry to a very experienced company (they do the Queens laundry for Holyrood!) and we add on a service charge.
7. Can you do any extra services while you are in a property?
Yes we can. We can take away any rubbish or junk that you may have. We can do bath sealing, install light bulbs, new lampshades, oven extractor fan filters, shower curtains, mattress protectors, smoke alarm batteries, toilet brushes and plug in air fresheners. If you have other requirements we may be able to help you - just ask!
8. What equipment does your cleaning team come with?
Our teams bring all that is needed to fully clean a property. You do not need to provide anything, just sit back and relax!
9. How many people will be cleaning my property?
We work with different team sizes depending on the size of the job or how quickly it requires doing. Generally we work in teams of two or three.
10. Can you take away and dispose of my rubbish and junk as well as cleaning?
Yes we can. Bluestone is a SEPA registered waste carrier. We can take anything provided that it is not classed as hazardous. Visit Bluestone Junk for more details.
11. Are you insured to do this work?
Yes we are fully insured. We have public liability insurance up to £2 million and employers liability up to £10 million.
12. Can you give me an exact price over the phone?
No. The Bluestone Office will give you a guideline estimate over the phone. Our rates are based on the state of the property and what the client requires. Until we see what cleaning is required we cannot give a precise price. We always provide an on site estimate and only start work once you are happy with cost.
13. How do you charge?
For one off cleaning we charge per hour per cleaning technician. We believe in charging all clients in a fair manner and that is why we do not do over inflated quotes and then rush through the work. The client only pays for the hours worked.
For regular contract cleaning we charge a fixed quoted rate.
We charge set rates for all our support services.
All charges are subject to VAT.

14. How can I pay?
For one off cleaning work you can pay by cheque or cash. All cheques are to be made out to Bluestone Cleaning Ltd.
For regular contract work a standing order is arranged for payment.

15. Do I have to drop my keys to you for one off cleaning work?
You can drop your keys directly to us or we can pick up your keys from a designated place, provided that you are based in the centre of Edinburgh.
16. How do I know that my keys are safe?
All our clients’ keys are kept in secure holding overnight within the Bluestone office.
17. Do you do jobs outside Edinburgh?
Yes we do clean outside Edinburgh. Each job is discussed depending on the distance and size of the job.
18.How much notice do you require for one off cleaning jobs?
The more notice the better but we try and work to a three day turn around depending on the time of year.
19. Can you do the work for me if I am not on site?
Yes we regularly work in client’s properties if they are not on site.
20. Can you do the work outside business hours?
Yes we can do work outside business hours subject to availability of cleaning technicians. There is an extra charge for this service. See Cleaning Prices.
21. Do you have any guarantees?
Yes we do. The Bluestone guarantee is simple. If you are not completely satisfied with the work that we agreed to do, please inform us and we will happily re-clean the area with which you are dissatisfied, for free, guaranteed.

23. Can I set up an account?
For one off cleaning clients who require work often (on an as and when basis) we can offer an account. For this we will invoice the jobs and do not require them to be signed off and paid on the day.
