1. What is Bluestone Maintenance?

Bluestone Maintenance provides a handyman service for the commercial and domestic market in and around Edinburgh.

2. What jobs can your maintenance man do?

We can lots of little jobs from hanging a mirror, assembling furniture, to installing a washing machine or trimming your hedge. Click on services in the maintenance part of the site to give you a more exhaustive list of what we can do for you. 3. How much does your service cost?

We charge £30 for the first hour and jobs over one hour are charged at the nearest quarter hour. No vat is charged for this service at present as we are a new Bluestone Group business.

4. Does this include materials?

No materials are extra. The majority or people use us purely to do the labour but if you require us to supply materials we add on a percentage to the cost.

5. How can I pay?

You can pay by cash or cheque. All cheques are to be payable to Bluestone.

6. What equipment does your maintenance man come with?

Our maintenance men have all a full range of tools and equipment to the work required. They will also carry a range of parts (such as screws, nails, wall plugs etc).

7. Are you insured to do this work?

Yes we are fully insured. We have public liability insurance up to £1 million and employers liability up to £10 million.

8. Can you give me an exact price over the phone?

No. The Bluestone Office will give you a guideline estimate over the phone. Our rates are based on how long the job will take. Until we see what is exactly required we cannot give a precise price. We always provide an on site estimate and only start work once you are happy with cost.

9. Do you do jobs outside Edinburgh?

Yes we can do maintenance jobs outside Edinburgh. Each job is discussed depending on the distance and size of the job.

10. How much notice do you require for maintenance jobs?

The more notice the better but we try and work to a three day turn around depending on the time of year. You may even be able to get a job done that day if you are lucky!

11. Can you do the work for me if I am not on site?

Yes we regularly work in client’s properties if they are not on site.

12. Can you do the work outside business hours?

Yes we can do work outside business hours subject to availability of technicians. There is an extra charge for this service. See Maintenance prices.

13. Can you do office maintenance work?

Yes we can. If you require us to do office maintenance work we can come and do the work and then invoice you afterwards. If you require a regular visit then we can look at more competitive rate for you.

14. Do you have CORGI registered engineers?

No we do not. We only do handyman work/repairs and do not deal with gas.

15. Do you have NICEIC accredited electricians?

No we do not. We only do handyman work/repairs and we can change lightbulbs, switches and lampshades. You will need to call a fully accredited electrician for all other work.

16. Do you have any guarantees?

Yes we do. The Bluestone guarantee is simple. If you are not completely satisfied with the work that we agreed to do, please inform us and we will happily re-do the work with which you are dissatisfied, for free, guaranteed.

18. Can I set up an account?

For clients who require work regularly we can offer an account. For this we will invoice the jobs and do not require them to be paid on the day.
