1. What do you do?
We do small removals for residential and commercial clients. We can supply our removals truck/van with 1, 2 or 3 removal technicians depending on what is required.
2. What can you remove or pick up and deliver?
We can take anything that is non hazardous and that 2 men can lift safely.
3. Can you provide storage?
Yes we can provide storage. We would store in one of our local self store businesses (not Bluestone owned). Any requirements can be discussed and quoted. There would be a minimum of a month for all storage.
4. What equipment does your removals truck come with?
Our removals van or truck comes with 1, 2 or 3 removal technicians with lots of muscle and other bits and bobs to make the removals process as easy as possible.
5. Are you insured to do this work?
Yes we are fully insured. We have public liability insurance up to £2 million and employers liability up to £10 million.
6. Can you give me an exact price over the phone?
No. The Bluestone office will give you a guideline estimate over the phone. We base estimates on the amount of stuff to pick up and the time it will take to load it into the Bluestone Removals van/truck and the time it will take to deliver to its destination. Until we see what there is to pick up we cannot give you a precise price.
7. How do you charge and why do you not charge VAT?
We charge for the hours worked and the use of the truck/van. There is also a charge for hiring and delivery of crates and packaging material if you require. Any jobs that are outside the bypass may incur travel costs so please ask us about this.
8. How can I pay?
You can pay by cheque or cash. All cheques are to be made payable to Bluestone Removals Ltd.
9. Why would I use Bluestone removals if I could hire a van instead?
If you are moving within Edinburgh we are very competitive to hiring a van and doing it yourself. The cheapest method is to hire one man and the van/truck and then help load and unload. It saves arranging to pick up and drop off a van, fill out the paperwork and getting your friends to help you. Also if you do not have a driving license we are the perfect solution for you!
10. How much notice do you require?
The more notice the better but we try and work to a 4 day turn around depending on the time of year.
11. Do you do jobs outside Edinburgh?
Yes we will do removals to and from outside Edinburgh. Each job is discussed depending on the distance and size of the job.
12. Can you do the work for me if I am not on site?
Yes we can. Provided that we can access the property and can get in touch with you to give you the price this is no problem.
13. Can you do the work outside hours?
If you require a removal out of hours we will try our best but we cannot guarantee to fit your time.
14. Do you have any guarantees?
Yes we do. The Bluestone guarantee is simple. If you are not completely satisfied with our work, please inform us and we will happily do what is required to sort it out for free, guaranteed.
15. Where are you based?
We are based at 41 West Bowling Green Street, Edinburgh, EH6 5NX.
16. Can I set up an account?
For clients who require work on a regular basis we can offer an account. For this we will invoice the jobs and not require them to be signed off and paid on the day.
